Portfolio: Silver
It has been a bit weird doing photography over the last couple of decades. To get involved in an art medium that was still, after 150 years, struggling for full acceptance as art had a certain outsider luster. Then to watch as digital was born, raised, and matured in ten years or so, both technically and as an artistic medium… But it was the first time I saw an image come up in a tray, that some kind of chord within me was struck.
Photography has since been one of my joys. In many ways, I think I am not a Photographer (I don’t carry a camera around all the time, I hardly spend any time at all in the darkroom now), but I always seem to meander back to that black and white image, if only as a source for something else.
I’ve decided to include digital images in this section as well. Originally I had intended to keep them separate from wet-process, but rather I will keep them separate from digital manipulations or collage or combines or what-have-you. These are photographs, rather than ‘other’ or mixed media.
The dates on a lot of these are approximations. If I have documentation of them, They are correct, otherwise I’ll circa them.
